Day 2 Working with watercolor: Methods of application.
Day 3 Value in painting.
Day 4 Basic Color Theory.
Day 5 Mixing colors.
Day 6 Mixing colors continued. Visit Museum.
Day 7 Texture in watercolor painting.
Day 8 Color temperature.
Day 9 Painting mass and texture: clouds and trees.
Day 10 Master Painting. Learn the painting technique of a master artist.
Day 11 Master Painting continued.
Day 12 Master Painting completed. Final critique.

***We will discuss supplies fully on the first day of class. You may wish to refrain from buying supplies until after that time.
***First Day of Class bring a pencil & sketchbook
Pigments:
Winsor & Newton, Cotman, Utrecht, and Grumbacher are all good brands.
Tube colors, minimum 5 ml.:
Cadmium Red, Medium
Ultramarine Blue
Permanent Alizarin Crimson
Prussian Blue
Cadmium Yellow
Bismuth Yellow
Burnt Umber
Burnt Sienna
Vermilion
Permanent Rose
Paynes Gray
Optional but great to have:
Cadmium Yellow Light, Cadmium Orange, Cobalt Blue
Pthalo Green (Winsor Green, Blue Shade), Manganese Blue, Cadmium Red Deep
Watercolor Brushes:
Rounds (sable or sablette) #2, #7, #10 and/or #12
#40 (Wash brush)
1/2" Flat
1/8" Rigger
Mediums:
Liquid frisket (masking medium)
Ox-Gall Liquid
Granulation Medium
Painting Surfaces:
At least 5 sheets 22" X 30" minimum 140# watercolor paper (1 Rough, 1 Hot Press, 3 Cold or Soft Press). I like Fabriano Uno, Lanaquarelle, Saunders, Arches or Twinrocker.
Other Materials:
Palette- White surface only, minimum 9" X 12" mixing surface
2B pencil
Soft white eraser (Mars Staedler plastic is good)
18" X 24" drawing or painting board
masking tape
2 water containers
1 squirt bottle
18" or 24" ruler
Utility Knife
Soft paper towels
Clean, small, sponge
small bar of soap
Sketchbook, spiral bound is preferred
